PMU (Permanent Makeup) is all about the machine method, whether we are shading the brows or creating fluffy looking, hair-like strokes. We first start with a shape consultation and customization before depositing pigment in to the skin to enhance, fill-in, and define the existing brow shape and hairs.
The results from your Permanent Makeup treatment usually last around 2 years, sometimes longer depending on the client! You can expect gradual fading of the pigment over time.
Whilst body tattoos are known for being particularly painful, Permanent Makeup is not a painful procedure. Most clients would rate the sensation a 3 out of 10, or compare it to having your brows tweezered. Topical numbing agents are used to ensure you are as comfortable as possible during your treatment.
The most discomfort is felt after a permanent lip blush procedure as the numbing wears off. Most people describe the discomfort as a slight sunburn. However, this is nothing you can't handle if it means years' worth of never doing your brows, eyeliner, or lips!
Yes, there is a small amount of downtime after a PMU (permanent makeup) procedure, meaning you will experience some redness, swelling, and potential scabbing in the treated area for a few days, requiring you to avoid heavy makeup, strenuous activity, and direct sun exposure while it heals; however, most people can still go about their daily lives with minimal disruption while following proper aftercare instructions.
Who's a Good Candidate for PMU?
A good candidate for Permanent Makeup (PMU) is someone with generally healthy skin, no major skin conditions, and who wants to save time by having features like eyebrows, eyeliner, or lips permanently enhanced, particularly if they have sparse or missing hairs due to age, medical conditions, or simply prefer a more defined look without daily makeup application; essentially, anyone who desires a consistent, low-maintenance aesthetic.
